Businesses urged to sell Staffordshire by becoming a county Ambassador

1 min read

Businesses across Staffordshire are being urged to join a major marketing drive to increase business growth and visitor numbers in the county.

Companies can sign up to become a Staffordshire Ambassador to shout about the county’s strengths and make connections in their networks.

The Staffordshire Ambassador programme, which is free to join, connects businesses, organisations and individuals across the county into a powerful network of voices to promote Staffordshire to national and international audiences.

Current Ambassadors helping to put the county on the map through the We Are Staffordshire initiative include JCB, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Staffordshire and Keele Universities, the National Memorial Arboretum and Lichfield Cathedral, in addition to many smaller businesses and individuals.

Chair of We Are Staffordshire’s Place Board and Managing Director of Valentine Clays Ltd, Hannah Ault said: “Staffordshire has so much to offer – through its many attractions, green spaces and innovative businesses.

“We are looking for passionate advocates for the county, whether it’s large organisations, SMEs or individuals with the passion and power to influence how it is marketed, portrayed in the media and at events so that we can ensure Staffordshire is put firmly on the map.

“During the past 18 months, we have set out to transform how we sell and promote the county. We’ve organised and participated in roundtable debates, taken Staffordshire to the House of Commons, spoken at national and international events and held 9 Ambassador events – all helping to showcase Staffordshire’s offer.

“We now need even more Ambassadors to join our network to help us to build on these great achievements so please get in touch.”

We Are Staffordshire holds four free Ambassador Events a year, showcasing exciting projects and success stories from businesses across the county. Each event is themed and held at a variety of locations across the county. The next event: A Place to Learn and Grow, takes place in January at Staffordshire University’s Catalyst Building. Register here to attend this event.

Ambassadors do not have to commit financially or give set hours of their time. They are asked to help make connections, share Staffordshire’s story far and wide or speak at events as Ambassadors, which also helps to promote their own business.
