The British Ceramics Biennial has been successful in its bid to The Community Foundation for Staffordshire to secure more funding for their ReCast programme.
This additional funding, alongside continued funding from The Rayne Foundation, meets the total programme costs until mid-September 2023.
ReCast combines creativity, addiction recovery and clay and is a collaboration between Stoke Recovery Service and BCB that’s been running since 2017.
The Foundation’s funding means that BCB can continue to work alongside Stoke Recovery Service to support more people on their addiction recovery journey, support more artists to understand and undertake similar work and share the incredible impact of using art and clay in a health and wellbeing context.
Clare Wood, Artistic Director and Chief Executive for British Ceramics Biennial, said: “We are proud to have found such an effective and profound method of supporting people during one of the most difficult and vulnerable periods of their lives as they seek to find a way out of drug and alcohol addiction.
“It is so heartening when a programme such as this, which has proved itself to be so effective in improving lives, can be continued and developed.”
