Defibrillator on the wall

Life-saving help available for businesses

1 min read

A partnership scheme is being set up to help businesses get life-saving advice and equipment in the workplace.

Stone-based national charity AEDdonate works to make sure communities are prepared in the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and improving survival rates for out of hospital cardiac arrests by placing defibrillators in those communities.

With 100,000 SCA deaths per year on average in the UK, the charity wants to join up with as many companies as possible next year to offer help and support.

Some of its recent work includes supplying 145 defibrillators to Toby Carvery restaurants around the country.

AEDdonate’s Charity Development Officer Amber Mottershead, above, said: “In 2023, we aim to partner with as many businesses as we can. With the objective to increase awareness around SCA, CPR, basic life support, and defibrillator training within local communities and workplaces, we can ultimately work together to save lives.

“As a charity, we pride ourselves on the in-depth service that we provide to ensure that all people, of any ability, are comfortable enough to be able to save a life if they should need to.”
