With the latest wave of strikes underway people are being advised to travel by rail only if absolutely necessary.
The West Coast Main Line running through Staffordshire is badly affected with Stoke-on-Trent Station closed on the days of industrial action.
A significantly reduced timetable on 14, 16 and 17 December, and 3, 4, 6 and 7 January means Avanti West Coast trains will also not be calling at Stockport, Macclesfield and Runcorn.
“If your journey is essential, please plan ahead as your entire journey will likely be severely disrupted,” said a spokesperson for the rail company.
“During the industrial action in December and January, we plan to run one train per hour from Euston to each of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Preston, with a limited service onwards to Glasgow.
“These trains will operate during limited hours, with the first train of the day departing Euston at 8.30am and the last train of the day from Euston departing mid-afternoon.”
Customers who booked tickets to travel on the strike days before the industrial action was announced can claim a full, fee-free refund from their point of purchase.
