A special school has reached out to businesses asking them to consider providing opportunities for its children to experience the workplace.
The Meadows School, in Leek, wants to link up with firms that can either provide workplace visits for 14 to 19-year-olds or work placements for those in Year 14, aged 18 or 19.
“Workplace visits are hugely beneficial to our students in terms of giving them an understanding of different paces and types of work,” said Lowri Bradeley, Head of Sixth Form.
“Similarly, work placements, where students can go for a longer period of time, helps build students’ confidence and communication, gives them an understanding of expectations in the workplace and gives them ambition and desire to do something after school.”
The school’s pupils come from all over North Staffordshire so any businesses, in any sector, have been invited to come forward.
