Free upskilling courses available for SMEs

Small businesses have been invited to take advantage of free training courses designed to help upskill workforces. 

The courses offered by Staffordshire University are available to Staffordshire-based businesses with fewer than 250 employees. 

They cover everything from promoting positive work culture and boosting business profits to programming in Python and saving a life with CPR. 

Phil O’Neill, Development Manager for Knowledge and Exchange at the university, said: “This is a great opportunity for businesses to engage with university education in a fully funded manor and to gain a competitive edge by upskilling their workforce.” 

Upcoming courses are: 

  • 26 January – Digital Entrepreneurship 
  • 1 February – Managing, Leadership & Performance 
  • 2 February – Boosting Business Profits Through Client Acquisition 
  • 7 February – CPR & Defibrillator Awareness 
  • 7 February – Introduction to Project Management 
  • 7 February – Introduction to Python Programming 
  • 9 February – Artificial Intelligence Overview 
  • 9 February – Digital Transformation  
  • 22 February – Digital Marketing  

The courses vary in length from short masterclasses to several weeks and are a mixture of on-campus, online or hybrid learning.
