A major logistics solutions firm is to become the latest company to invest in a growing commercial development in North Staffordshire.
Emerge Global has signed a deal to move into a 70,000 sq. ft warehouse at St Modwen Logistics’ development at Festival Park, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent.
Emerge, which includes Amazon and eBay among its list of customers, needs the warehouse at St Modwen Park Stoke Central for pallet space to boost the storage arm of its business.
The company, which is also involved in fulfilment, logistics, freight-forwarding and service, says it currently has capacity for 2,500 pallet-space storage but is looking to increase this to 17,000 pallet spaces with the help of new warehousing.
It follows announcements that PC and Online Gaming business Overclockers UK has taken a 99,000 sq. ft warehouse and National Veterinary Service (NVS) has let a 250,000 sq. ft unit at the Stoke Central site from developers St Modwen.
Both are North Staffordshire-based companies and had outgrown their existing premises. The deals mean they are able to remain in the area and support the local economy and increase employment opportunities.
Overclockers UK and NVS are currently fitting out their units and will be fully operational soon. Emerge are set to move in a little later this year following an outfitting of their warehouse.
St Modwen continues to invest heavily in the city – through both its Stoke Central and Stoke South schemes. The development takes its investment in the region to £65.5 million and has seen it build almost 1 million sq. ft of warehouse space in the area in the last two years, helping meet growing demand for space.

St Modwen Park Stoke Central is part of the wider 300-acre Festival Park development and is included in the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone. It is also located next to the Etruria Valley Link Road, which was launched last week.
