Showcasing and celebrating apprenticeships

1 min read

Daily Focus is teaming up with local businesses and organisations to help celebrate the value and achievements of apprenticeships.

A dedicated section on our business news site is shining the spotlight on National Apprenticeship Week – which takes place from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 February.

In the coming days, and during the week itself, the focus will be on how our local organisations are marking the occasion and what events and initiatives are planned to showcase opportunities. There will also be interviews with former apprentices who’ve gone on to successful careers as a result of their training.

Among those we’ll be featuring are Keele University, Jaguar Land Rover, JCB, Rebus Training, Severn Trent, Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent College, LSGK Accountants The Hex Group and many more.

If you have an aprenticeship success story, let us know by emailing [email protected].

Why is National Apprenticeship Week so important?

National Apprenticeship Week, is now in its 16th year and in 2023 is focussing on the theme ‘Skills for Life’.

Apprenticeships are vital to businesses in the current economic climate as the UK faces a shortage of skilled workers in many industries.

Apprenticeships provide a solution to this problem, by equipping young people with the skills and experience they need to succeed in the modern workforce. They also provide businesses with a cost-effective way to develop their workforce and ensure they have the skills they need to compete in the global economy.

Apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career and help businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with skills for the future.

National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity for businesses, schools, and colleges to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships and inspire young people to consider them as a career path.
