Royal Mail has advised customers to hold any export mail while it resolves a cyber issue that is causing ‘severe disruption’ across the network.
The company has launched an investigation into the incident and ‘sincerely apologies’ to customers for the delays.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We are temporarily unable to dispatch items to overseas destinations.
“Some customers may experience delay or disruption to items already shipped for export.
“Our import operations continue to perform a full service with some minor delays.”
