Keele University has today unveiled its very own Apprenticeship Digital Skills Library.
The digital resource has been launched to tie in with National Apprenticeships Week but will continue to evolve to provide more and more content for apprentices and employers to learn more about the university’s apprenticeship offer.
Sam Lesniak, Keele’s Head of Applicant Marketing and Communications, said: ”We’re delighted to be launching the new Apprenticeship Digital Skills Library as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2023.
“The Skills Library is a curated hub of bite-size content for those interested in apprenticeships, allowing employers and prospective apprentices to quickly and conveniently learn more about our apprenticeship offer at Keele University.”
Keele University launched its apprenticeship scheme in 2018 and now has over 500 apprentices from more than 100 different employers, across a diverse range of programmes from different sectors and specialisms.
Recently, the first cohort of Data Scientist Apprentices have graduated from the programme with 2:1’s or 1sts, including a large cohort from Barclays.
The university’s apprentices made particularly notable contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Nursing Associate apprenticeship developed loyal caseworkers in the healthcare system, and more than one of Keele’s Senior Leader Apprentices were awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for exemplary leadership in their organisations, navigating teams during the uncertainty caused by Covid-19.
Four videos have been commissioned to highlight the best of the university’s apprenticeship provision and demonstrate its commitment to encouraging skills for life for apprentices, organisations and the wider community
Lou Taylor-Murison, Head of Apprenticeships and Experiential Learning, said: ”Keele University is a key anchor institution in the region with initiatives such as the Keele Deal, showcasing the university’s commitment to Staffordshire.
“Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week is part of Keele’s ongoing contribution to skills needs and development, by supporting and developing individuals and employers.”
