Successful applicants for one of the jobs on offer at a family theme park in Staffordshire will get the chance to drive Thomas the Tank Engine.
Included in the job description for Rides Guest Host at the Drayton Manor Resort is taking charge of the rides and attractions including Thomas Land.
The Hosts will look after more than 40 rides including the only European home of Thomas – “and you may even get to drive him!” says the jobs advert on the resort website.
The Resort, situated near Tamworth, is gearing up to launch its 2023 season next month.
It has a number of posts vacant including Head of Park Operations who will “oversee the daily operation of the heart of our award-winning park,” ensuring all the rides are operating safely.
The role also covers recruitment, training and deployment as well as setting customer service standards and managing customer feedback.
Rides Guest Hosts are responsible for the safety of ride users and cleaning the rides. They must be energetic and prepared to work in all types of weather.
Also being advertised are jobs as Catering Guest Hosts who will work in one of the site’s onsite food outlets and Park Presentation Hosts who make sure the park looks at its best at all times.
The park has more than 40 rides as well as a zoo, eateries and gift shops.
The 2023 season begins on February 17 when the Resort opens for the week, reverting to Friday to Sunday openings until Easter before increasing its opening days into the summer.
