Hairdresser Vinny-Lee Brennan is riding a wave of success as he prepares to open his own salon.

He is a recent winner of the Quif Centre Stage competition run by a professional hair colour brand after working with a model to present his colour, cut and finish to judges and a live audience.

Last year his outstanding skills led to him being named as Apprentice of the Month at NSCG Newcastle College on the way to his Diploma for Hair Professionals Level 2.

Completing his college course alongside working as a hair stylist in the Colour Code Hair Lounge in his home village of Brindley Ford, Stoke-on-Trent, he emerged with a distinction.

The stylist is following in a family tradition – he has been part of his mum’s hairdressing business since he was 12 years old.

Now at the age of 18 he is setting up the Vinny Brennan Hair Lounge, in Congleton in April.

The business will offer cutting, styling, colouring, perming and smoothing.

Vinny-Lee said: “I am delighted to be opening my own salon.

“My apprenticeship definitely helped my hairdressing skills, and winning the national Quif competition qualifies me to be a judge on next year’s Centre Stage panel.

“I’ve also worked on Cheshire Fashion Week and I was involved at the prestigious Salon International event.”
