Charity asks businesses to get behind the wheel for fundraiser

1 min read

Businesses are being encouraged to nominate a driver to help raise money for charity.

North Staffs Mind is holding a fundraiser they have called the Mindianapolis Grand Prix at the TeamSport Indoor go-karting arena, in Stoke-on-Trent, in May.

The organisation hopes the event will raise much needed funds to help its work providing mental health support – and is looking for 14 companies to put someone forward to compete and represent their business.

The race will cover 30 laps of the multi-level circuit and competitors will be behind the wheel of state-of-the-art go-karts capable of reaching 65 kph on the straight.

Event Organiser Steve Channon, from the charity, said: “This is the first time we’ve done a fund-raiser like this but we expect it to be a truly exciting, highly adrenaline-fuelled event.

“North Staffs Mind is self-funded and has to work hard for its income so we hope this event will be well-supported by local businesses.”

The event at the Burslem arena takes place from 5.30pm on Wednesday, 10th May.

Entry criteria is via a fixed sponsorship agreement with the equivalent of five sponsors per driver, with the amount dependant on where the driver finishes in the race.

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
