Opening date for new Greek eatery announced

The opening date for a much-anticipated new Greek bakery-come-taverna has been set.

Diners were sent into a frenzy when Daily Focus revealed last month that Anasma Greek Bakery, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, is to open a new venue at The Trentham Estate.

Although the bakery has only been open two years, it has built up a large group of loyal customers who travel for miles to sample its authentic food.

The new place will be bigger and offer breakfasts, lunches and food in the evening.

Anasma Greek Eatery will open on Monday, 10 April and be situated in the shopping village at Trentham, in the place of the former Riverside café.

The menu includes classic dishes such a moussaka and spanakopita as well as grilled meats and meze dishes.

The opening announcement says: “We are thrilled to announce that Anasma Greek Eatery, the newest and most exciting addition to Trentham Gardens dining scene, will be opening its doors soon.

“Our team has been working tirelessly to create an authentic Greek dining experience that will transport you to the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean.

“From the 10th of April, you will be able to experience the magic of Anasma Greek Eatery.”

Owner Marianna Anastasiou, above, expected to create around 15 jobs at the eatery.

The 40-year-old, who was born in Romania but grew up in Cyprus, told Daily Focus that her customers had been asking for somewhere larger for a while and hopes the new site will allow more people to try their food.
