Staffordshire Moorlands-based MiniMe Mindfulness has been shortlisted for two accolades at the national Club Hub Awards – marking its early success as a children’s activity provider.
It is up for awards in the Start-up Business of the Year and Franchise of the Year categories. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in May.
The business was set up in September 2022 by Claire Rushton-Plant – a former English teacher who had worked in the profession since 2005.
Her aim in establishing it was to respond to the mental health needs of children connected to their return to classrooms following the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns.
MiniMe Mindfulness teaches community classes, in schools and nurseries and offers full day sessions during school holidays.
Children are taught mindfulness and mindset techniques in a fun and innovative way. This includes helping them embrace their internal superpowers to allow them to better regulate their emotions as well as building confidence and resilience.
Claire, pictured above with her invite to the awards, said: “I am so proud and honoured to have been announced as a finalist.
“To me what I do is very rewarding anyway, but to be recognised for that is amazing. It makes making such a huge change from being employed to self-employed worth it.”
Winners will be announced at an exclusive Club Hub Event on Saturday May 13th in Birmingham. The event is not only an awards ceremony but also a CPD and networking opportunity for children’s activity providers.
