A popular North Staffordshire bar will reopen its doors on Friday with a new shop feature and hundreds of different beers on offer.
Craft bar The Hideout, in Leek, had been closed for around 18 months before being taken over by The Great British Beer Company.
The Market Place venue enjoyed a well-supported preview day at the start of the month, but will open officially at 3pm on Friday, 21st April.
It is The Great British Beer Company’s second pub after launching The Devil’s Taphouse in Stafford three years ago.
Director Jack Taylor said: “Expansion had been on the cards for us for some time and we believe this new site is a great setting with a lot of potential.
“It will be a full craft bar venue with a lot of different beers you won’t be able to find elsewhere in Leek.
“We’ll have 10 keg lines, as well as over 350 types of cans and bottles in the shop.”
The venue first started out as the BeerDock, later becoming The Hideout – a name inspired by the then owner’s grandmother Dorothy Hyde.
Jack and his team have taken over the lease of the bar from the former owners and has found some items relating to its history, which will be put on display for customers to see.
The bar has undergone a small refurbishment and has created a handful of jobs, with more likely to come.
An effort has been made to support local breweries with beers from those such as Lymestone and Titanic being stocked.
Ahead of opening the venue, Jack has called on the government to show more support for the industry.
He said: “We’re really looking forward to being in Leek and seeing as many people as possible – it’s time to get our industry going again.
“So many pubs, bars and breweries are closing down, but it is time the government gave the industry a bit more help.
“We need the support now more than ever – there needs to be a change in beer duty.”
