A musician known across the UK and Europe as a top Elvis tribute act is to open his own shop in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Jason Dale began considering his next venture when lockdown hit and his tours were cancelled.
His shop, Get Rhythm Music Co, will sell vintage and new instruments and provide restorations and repairs.
It is expected to open on North Street within the next few weeks.
“As a musician myself, I know there is nothing like this for miles around,” said Jason.
“But it’s not just about selling instruments, we will provide the human touch and knowledge that is often lacked these days.
“The internet can’t provide the benefit of someone’s experience or hands-on help with things such as tuning a guitar.”
The shop is situated next to the Rhythm Foundry music school, which Jason says complements his business and provides a “vibrant energy”.
Its site has been empty since before the Covid pandemic but was home to a jam factory many years ago.
Jason added: “From jam factory to jamming, this is a great location and we’re really excited about the shop.
“I had to have a long, hard think about what to do when the pandemic hit. I took time to learn how to play the piano and by the time we came out of lockdown, I could do it to a professional standard.
“My love of music has developed even further, and the shop is my next step.”
Around four jobs will be created when it opens.
Staff will work in conjunction with well-known ‘repair doctor’ Rich Stubbs.
Jason will still continue with his performing career.
