Family-run Staffordshire law firm Adcocks Solicitors is celebrating as one of its specialist team continues to carve out an impressive career with a double accolade.
Trainee Solicitor Maddie Williams was not only admitted to the role of solicitors earlier this month but has also been named the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth and Cannock Chase Young Professional of the Year.
Judges in the competition run by the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce praised her for going “above and beyond for often vulnerable, elderly clients”.
Maddie, has now taken up a role as a fully qualified Solicitor with Lichfield-based Adcocks, joining the Private Client and Family team on a full-time basis.
She specialises in private client work, creating wills, lasting powers of attorney, and trusts and said she was “incredibly proud” to have achieved her goal in qualifying as a solicitor.
She added: “I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do on a day-to-day basis. It can be very rewarding assisting the elderly and sometimes vulnerable clients in matters that can often be daunting or distressing to them.
“I always endeavour to make the process as smooth as possible for them, so it is a huge honour to be recognised for my efforts with this award, which also puts me in good stead for my future career.”
Maddie joined Adcocks Solicitors in June 2018. Having achieved a BA degree in English from the University of Nottingham and LLM Master of Laws from Birmingham City University,
She went on to pass her Legal Practice Course (LPC) with a distinction and began her training contract in 2021.
Head of Adcocks’ Private Client and Family department Kerry Davies, who has supported Maddie on her journey as her training principal, said: “Qualifying as a solicitor, and receiving this prestigious award, are well-deserved milestones for Maddie, who is a great asset to Adcocks and our Private Client and Family team.”
