Staffordshire businesses working in the construction sector can learn more about how they can reduce their carbon emissions at a free workshop.
Based around circular strategies and practices, the event takes place in May at the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce headquarters on Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent.
This day is being offered at no cost to eligible businesses thanks to the University of Wolverhampton-based EnTRESS project, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
EnTRESS has supported nearly 200 businesses with the development and adoption of environmental technologies and resource efficient processes in Staffordshire and the Black Country over the past six years; however, the project will close at the end of June 2023.
The workshop will be led by team member and Cirklo Consult founder Debbie Ward, who is a certified Carbon Literacy Trainer.
Participants also have the option to apply for accreditation from the Carbon Literacy Project and will receive further business support from EnTRESS, with a choice of a Matterport scan; building fabric assessment; renewable energy and heating technology assessment or carbon emissions calculation guidance for their business.
Project Manager Andrew Stott said: “I would encourage any construction focussed SME in Staffordshire to sign up for this workshop as not only do they have the chance to gain accreditation from the Carbon Literacy project they will also receive free additional support from a team who have successfully supported a range of SMEs in different sectors over the past six years.
“Many of the businesses we have worked with have tapped into further support from across the University and other regional business support stakeholders leading to them achieving growth and increasing employment opportunities.”
