Expansion on cards for Parogon Group – with hope of more upmarket Willow restaurants to come

Parogon Group has announced its intention to add more Willow restaurants to its portfolio.

The independent restaurant group, which owns popular North Staffordshire venues such as The Orange Tree and The Block House, opened Willow at The Trentham Estate two years ago this month.

It has now brought in a consultant to help source additional locations to allow the company to expand across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire with the hope of achieving 10 sites.

A spokesman said: “Willow offers a slightly different concept to our other Parogon venues, with a Mediterranean inspired all-day dining experience and high-quality interiors filled with lush greenery and natural light.

“The current plan is to develop one additional site in 2023, with two more sites in 2024 and a target of 10 sites within the next three years.”

Staffordshire-based Parogon Group was started in 2007 by a group of schoolfriends and its first venue was The Swan With Two Necks, in Blackbrook, near Newcastle-under-Lyme.

It currently has nine upmarket restaurants with another, to be known as The Orange Tree Congleton, set to open in the summer.

The company is spending £1 million refurbishing what was The Cheshire Tavern, which closed last summer. Around 50 jobs will be created when it opens.
