Gas price hike warning: Staffordshire Chambers Energy Services on stand-by to help

1 min read

Business leaders are being urged to take pre-emptive action following a warning that gas prices could almost triple this winter.

Global financial institution Goldman Sachs is advising that costs are likely to surge in Europe, with prices potentially exceeding $100 per Megawatt-hour.

In the face of a possible UK price of around 260p a therm, Staffordshire Chambers Energy Services are offering to help businesses stabilise their costs in advance.

Prices in the UK are currently below 100p a therm – but Goldman Sachs warns that a combination of winter weather risks and declining household conservation efforts could cause them to spiral.

So with gas prices predicted to nearly treble and a very cold winter on the horizon, businesses with less than a year remaining on their energy contracts are being advised to take immediate action to lock in prices for their next contract.

Staffordshire Chambers Energy Services can help search a wide range of specialist business energy suppliers on firms’ behalf, helping them to secure prices now and provide their business with stabilised utility costs.

Energy Services has been specifically designed to assist Staffordshire Chambers members in reducing their electricity, gas and water expenditure, ultimately leading to increased efficiency.

Members can receive a free energy check and potentially save thousands of pounds on their business energy.
