A group of three well-known nurseries has been sold to another childcare provider.
Giggles & Wiggles operated three settings in North Staffordshire providing full day care and pre-school provision for children up to the age of five.
They have been acquired by Cheshire-based Kids Planet Day Nurseries, which has over 140 settings across the UK including Staffordshire sites in Rugeley, Hixon, Stafford, Cheadle and Hanford.
Giggles & Wiggles was established in Stone by Jill and Steve Jones in 2004. The pair built the business up to include another site at The Brampton, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and then in nearby Basford, in Stoke-on-Trent.
Jill said: “Having owned Giggles & Wiggles for over 18 years, selling them was always going to be a difficult decision and so I was keen for the process to be as straightforward as possible.
“The Kids Planet team communicated well from the outset, handled everything sensitively with compassion, and in a timely manner.
“Kids Planet provided valuable insight and guidance throughout and demonstrated real empathy and thought for our teams and parents.
“This provided welcomed reassurance and I am confident the nurseries are in safe hands.”
Jill and Steven were advised on the sale by Stoke-based Beswicks Legal’s commercial property and corporate law teams.
