A homeless charity is asking people to unleash their entrepreneurial skills in its latest fund-raising challenge.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based Gingerbread Centre is teaming up with sponsors Swansway Motor Group to launch the Swansway Gingerbread Enterprise Challenge.
Each participating team will be given £50 cash and asked to turn it into as much money as possible by any means that’s safe, legal and ethical.
At the same time as enjoying a team-building task that will get their creative juices flowing, the money-makers will be raising cash for The Gingerbread Centre, whose work supports homeless families in the Staffordshire and Cheshire areas.
The challenge will run from Monday 12 June until Friday 21 July, with the teams being given as much or as little time as they would like to carry out their fund-raising challenges.
In previous years teams have hosted car washes and duck races, created and sold ginger-themed deserts and one even enlisted the help of a local ice cream van manufacturer to sell ice creams to their colleagues.
In the third year of the fund-raiser, the challenge is expanding with the addition of a new category for schools with youngsters being encouraged to take part in a fun and safe setting.
Chris Belyavin, Fundraiser at The Gingerbread Centre, said: “We are delighted to be returning with The Swansway Gingerbread Enterprise Challenge and are looking forward to welcoming new teams to the challenge.”
Swansway Motor Group Director David Smyth said: “It’s our pleasure to once again sponsor the enterprise challenge. Last year we had three teams sign up from our Crewe-based Head Office and there was a real buzz around Head Office and between the three teams.
“Our hope is that other employers and now schools get to experience the same fun and excitement whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.”
