A specialist holiday firm has expanded its portfolio for the fifth time in less than a year.
Based in Burton upon Trent, Solmar Villa Holidays specialises in private villas with pools in Europe.
It added properties in Kos, Ibiza, on the Amalfi Coast and the Ionian Coast late last year and has now just added 29 villas in Costa Calida, in south east Spain.
Of the new properties, 23 are in the La Manga Club resort, a popular training base for tennis, golf and football players, whilst the rest are in The Mar Menor Golf Resort, some offering views of the course.
Chief executive Julie Blake said: “Adding Costa Calida to the portfolio is the latest strand of our ongoing expansion, which will see us increase turnover by 25 per cent this year as we bid to establish ourselves as the first choice for those looking for villa holidays.”
Solmar was started by Julie’s parents when they bought their own villa in the 1980s and has now grown to offer over 1,500 properties across Europe and the Mediterranean.
It has added 540 villas to its portfolio since late 2022.
The company employs 60 people in the UK and 30 overseas and all Solmar holidays offer in-resort villa managers.
Julie added: “All of our villas have an in-person safety check and we have worked hard with owners to make sure they include everything you could need for the perfect holiday.
“We have also reinforced our commitment to maintaining our in-resort staff when other travel companies are reducing reps to save money.
“It is important to our customers that they know there is someone they can turn to nearby, and this is part of what makes Solmar stand out from the crowd.”
