Global growth for Nemesis Now as demand for its pop culture merchandise soars

1 min read

A creator and wholesaler of pop culture giftware associated with some of the world’s most iconic entertainment brands is celebrating its 20th year in business with substantial growth and a new showroom.

Nemesis Now works with brands across TV, film and gaming, such as Warner Bros and Netflix, to develop unique and exclusive collectibles as well as gothic and fantasy products.

They include everything from Original Stormtrooper and Harry Potter giftware, to The Lord of the Rings favourites and original fantasy and heritage models.

The Stoke-on-Trent-based company, which was established in 2003, develops all the licensed and original products in-house – designed and 3D sculpted by its own product development team.

Headquartered at City Road, it currently supplies around 2,000 customers worldwide, split between bricks and mortar shop retailers, e-commerce giants and distributors.

The business also has a pro-active export policy to secure proven distribution channels and partnerships in identified territories.

This has resulted in substantial growth over the last three years and allowed revenue to increase on a global scale. The expansion has been accomplished by replicating a hugely successful UK market, then tailoring it to the intricacies of new overseas markets.

Subsequently, employment in the business is continuing to increase both locally and internationally – with headcount up 22 per cent due to the expansion.

So far this year Nemesis Now has hired five new employees for brand new roles as well as several warehouse staff.

The company has two full-time employees in China overseeing manufacturing and logistics and new employment opportunities are set to arise from the opening of an operation in the US.

Managing Director Nick Chadwick said: “As a Managing Director, one of the most fulfilling aspects is witnessing the growth and development of individuals within the organisation. Seeing talented people evolve and flourish into key and integral members of the team is truly a highlight.”

Nemesis Now opened a second office space in Stoke-on-Trent in summer 2022 and has recently launched a brand-new showroom there. It is open to trade customers who can book an appointment to look around and discuss requirements.

The new location at Federation House also houses the company’s Product Development, Marketing, Purchasing and Sales teams.

The warehouse, as well as the Customer Service and Finance team, are located at its headquarters.
