Hygan Products strikes major partnership deal with Halfords to sell its innovative car care products

A Stoke-on-Trent company that produces high-quality specialist sponges for a range of industries and sectors has struck a deal with Halfords, the UK’s largest retailer of automotive products.

Hygan Products has won an initial contract to supply wheel and interior car care kits to be sold in Halfords’ stores and online nationwide as part of a new partnership between the two companies.

The kits are made up of sponge tools for cleaning alloy wheels and dressing tyres as well as smaller, more precise tools for car vents, grills and other small gaps on vehicles.

The product package is seen as ideal for car detailers, valeters and care enthusiasts who want to maintain the highest standards.

Hygan – a family company based in Hartshill – has built its reputation by supplying bespoke sponge tools and products to the local and global ceramics industry.

However, looking to branch out into new markets, they adapted them – and around five years ago launched a specialist car cleaning, valeting and detailing sector, providing exterior, interior, wheel and body care products.

Since then, the Hygan Car Care division has built a strong reputation for excellence which has led to the partnership with Halfords.

“We are thrilled to partner with Halfords to make our premium car care products accessible to a broader range of customers,” said Jon Hewitt, MD of Hygan Products.

“At Hygan, we are passionate about providing car enthusiasts with the best tools to keep their vehicles in pristine condition. Our collaboration with Halfords will enable more people to experience the outstanding performance and exceptional results our products deliver.”

The car care kits went on sale at Halfords from June 12, as the initial stage in the wider partnership.

In addition to supplying specialist sponges to the ceramic and car care sectors, Hygan also manufactures and supplies many other products.

These include a wide range of other consumables to the ceramics industry (including ceramic terylene workwear), branded baby bath time sponges and bespoke sponge products for other uses.
