Stoke-on-Trent-based charity Savana has appointed Sophia Baker as their new Chief Executive Officer.  

Sophia, who has over 15 years’ experience of working in the charity sector, both locally and nationally, has joined the organisation based in Clough Street, Hanley.  

Bringing an extensive background of charity leadership skills from previous roles at the Royal British Legion, The Peter Pan Centre for Children with Special Needs and Realise Charity, Sophia will lead Savana as it continues in its mission to end sexual violence.

Sophia, pictured above, said “It is a tremendous privilege to have been selected for this role as I have long admired the work that Savana undertakes in supporting survivors of sexual abuse.  

“I am excited to be working alongside such a passionate and dedicated team of staff and volunteers as we continue to support survivors from across Stoke on Trent and the surrounding areas.”  

Savana provides support to anyone over the age of 4, that has been affected by sexual violence and abuse.  

The charity delivers a range of counselling services, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA’s) and education support.   

Savana also delivers CPD accredited training opportunities to a range of organisations and professionals.

  1. A brilliant charity that I had the privilege to work for on their anniversary celebrations a number of years ago at the New Vic theatre. I cannot praise them highly enough.
