Precision Technologies International invests £1.5m in specialist engineering equipment

1 min read

A high-performance engineering specialist is gearing up for the next phase of growth with a £1.5 million investment in new equipment.

Precision Technologies International (PTI) says the injection will help to boost capacity by an estimated 15 to 20 per cent at its base in Tamworth.

It forms part of PTI’s parent company’s (Precision Engineering Solutions) ambition to become a £15m turnover group by 2025.

PTI produces specialist engineered components and bespoke engineering solutions for some of the world’s leading names across a range of sectors including F1 and motorsport, aerospace, oil and gas, marine and defence.

A new range of plant and equipment has now been installed and commissioned. The state-of-the art additions include a 5-axis milling machine, a second Hofler CNC gear grinding machine and two CNC turning centres.  A CNC cylindrical grinding machine is also planned.

It is another major investment for the company, which was first set up 60 years ago. It now has one of the largest tool rooms in the UK and exports to the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia.

James Nicklin, Precision Engineering Solutions Group Managing Director, said: “Everything we do is about skill and precision every time.

“We’re proud of our world-wide reputation but we know we cannot stand still because our customers rely on our expertise and high-quality components to help keep them ahead of the game.

“We have an ongoing programme of investment to help us deliver high tech and high spec components that help make our customers’ designs operate at peak perfection – whether it’s for the latest racing cars, electric vehicles, defence components and even world class competitive racing yachts.”

Nearly 90 people are employed at PTI in Tamworth and the company has pledged to continue to invest in people as well as plant and systems – with recruitment opportunities throughout the group.

James added: “We’re really going places and of course we can’t do it without our dedicated team.

“Their professional development is a key priority which is why we have a training and development programme in place for existing employees and apprentices. We’re set for an exciting few years ahead and we’re looking for even more great people to join us.”
