A much-anticipated children’s play village will open for families in time for the summer holidays.

As reported by Daily FocusWaterworld Leisure Resort has invested £250,000 into creating a new play facility themed around some of Staffordshire’s most iconic landmarks.

The Stoke-on-Trent attraction is expected to create up to 10 jobs and has supported local businesses throughout the design and build process.

Now it has been revealed that Adventure Mini Village will open at Festival Park on Monday 24 July – the first day of the school summer holidays for most schools local to the attraction.

The play village will provide role play opportunities in settings including a kiln, Staffordshire barge and a recreation of the New Vic Theatre.

A spokesman from DKMD Role-Play Villages, the company behind the design and build, said: “This immersive role play village will awaken the imaginations of all those who have a desire to explore and play.

“The village has been designed for the early years and primary school audience – to not only bring joy to children but allow adults to play alongside them too.”

Waterworld Leisure Resort has invested more than £12 million into its site over the past few years.

Four new water rides have been added to the tropical aqua park, two mini golf courses have opened and a three-storey M Club gym, with more than 400 pieces of equipment, is now housed in a 70,000 sq ft expansion.

A new Nurture Childcare business is also due to open at the complex later this year.

  • Adventure Mini Village will be open seven days a week with set play sessions which must be booked online. For more information, click here.
