Scheme to brighten up shop fronts aims to boost economic growth in Newcastle-under-Lyme

1 min read

High street traders in Newcastle-under-Lyme are being offered cash backing to spruce up their “windows on the world”.

The Shop Front Improvement Scheme offers local businesses match funding up to £250 to enhance the visual appeal of their exteriors.

The aim is to create a more appealing and vibrant experience for shoppers and residents alike.

A substantial budget has been set aside for this latest project from Newcastle-under-Lyme Business Improvement District (BID).

Eligible businesses can apply for grants to fund improvements such as exterior painting, signage, lighting, window displays and more.

The scheme was developed in collaboration with local businesses and stakeholders.

By promoting a cohesive and visually striking streetscape the scheme aims to attract more shoppers, boost footfall, and ultimately stimulate economic growth.

Business owners interested in participating in the Shop Front Improvement Scheme can find application details on the Newcastle-under-Lyme BID website: https://www.newcastleunderlyme.org/shop-front-improvement-scheme/

  • Newcastle-under-Lyme BID was officially launched in 2015 following a vote by local businesses to make the town centre a designated Business Improvement District.
