Stoke-on-Trent vehicle hire specialists gear up with sponsorship of Hanley Town FC

Fenton based car and van hire specialists Afford Rent-a-Car and its sister company Welfare Vans 4 Less have signed a deal with popular non-league football club Hanley Town FC.

The sponsorship means that all the club’s teams training tops and training rain jackets, from the under 7s to the first team – who play in the Northern Premier League, West Division – will be emblazoned with the logos of both companies for the 2023/24 season.

Afford Rent-a-Car and Welfare Vans 4 Less MD Ryan Gratton said: “We already have a great relationship with Hanley Town FC as Afford Rent-a-Car have been their strategic partners since early 2022.

“Having seen what a great job the club do, not only on the pitch, but in the community, we wanted to cement our relationship with further sponsorship.

“They have teams for all ages from under 7s for boys and girls up to the senior men’s and ladies teams as well as a fantastic community development programme. Our businesses are also very community focussed and we take our corporate social responsibility seriously, so this is a perfect fit.”

Afford Rent-a-Car started up in Fenton in 1981 whist Welfare Vans 4 Less, which supplies fully kitted out vans for construction and other work sites, was established in 2017.

Hanley Town FC chairman Ron McIlreavey added: “I am incredibly grateful to Ryan and everyone at Afford Rent-a-Car and Welfare Vans 4 Less for their generosity and support of our club.

“It’s important to remember that we have 17 teams at Hanley Town FC, and we operate on a tight budget so sponsorship deals like this make a real difference.

“Every single player from the under 7s all the way to the first team will be training in this striking design all next season. That is 187 players and managers all wearing identical kit at training, looking the part.

“Training side-by-side at the same venue in the same training gear with the same sponsor really will help to engender that one club feel.”
