A revised list of value-for-money Staffordshire family attractions has been released – to coincide with the six-week summer holiday break.
Enjoy Staffordshire has compiled the 30 family days out for less than £30 guide, which includes a variety of things to see and do around the county.
It comes as latest figures for Staffordshire’s visitor economy show that it is worth £1.8 billion annually, attracting 28 million day or overnight trips each year.
Tourism is also the fourth largest sector in the county, supporting around 33,000 jobs.
Among the attractions mentioned in the guide are Apedale Valley Light Railway, near Newcastle-under-Lyme, neighbouring Apedale Country Park and the Staffordshire Regiment Museum, near Tamworth,
Other venues featured include Churnet Valley Railway, near Leek, Lichfield Cathedral’s summer beach installation, the World of Wedgwood in Barlaston, Branston Water Park, near Burton and The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas.
Great outdoor spaces are also widely mentioned including the Peak District National Park, Cannock Chase AONB, and the National Forest.
Philip White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Chair of Enjoy Staffordshire, said: “We know that many families still face extra pressures from the increasing cost of living which is why we’re promoting our 30 days out for less than £30 campaign.
“Keeping children entertained over the six-week summer holiday will be a challenge but there are lots of brilliant days out with lots of choice that don’t cost the earth.”
