Stoke on Trent College plays leading role in national campaign to supercharge adult education

2 mins read

Stoke on Trent College has joined forces with education providers around the UK for a groundbreaking nationwide campaign aimed at reigniting interest in adult education.

The College Marketing Network (CMN) has launched the pioneering marketing drive aimed at combating the declining participation of adults in education – specifically focussing on part-time courses.

With the challenge of meeting recruitment targets, Stoke on Trent College is one of more than 20 CMN member colleges across the UK working together to maximise the impact of their investments to promote and support the initiative.

The campaign is set to run throughout August and September and uses a multi-channel approach, encompassing television broadcasts, social media engagement as well as print and digital media to reach as wide an audience as possible.

It also taps into cutting edge technology in the form of a new digital platform called Upskill Reskill.

This tool allows adults to assess their existing skills and gain insights into potential career paths that match their interests and ambitions.

It not only assists in identifying new career avenues, but also offers opportunities for individuals to refine and expand their current skill sets, enhancing their prospects in their chosen fields.

Media agency Forward and Thinking and Media Partnership Ltd have been brought on board to help provide the creative drive for the campaign.

Lisa Capper MBE,  Principal and CEO at Stoke on Trent College, said: “Stoke on Trent College is delighted to be joining forces as part of this nationwide campaign.

“Adult learning is crucially important for both businesses and individuals, and especially following the pandemic and cost of living crisis. Our Adult Learning service offers the opportunity for employers to help upskill, reskill and train their workforce and for individuals it can be the chance to learn something new,  improving wellbeing or enhance existing careers as well as opening up new opportunities.

“Any age or background, or any business  – we are proud to support all adults and employer-partners across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area, providing many opportunities for adults to learn new skills and develop themselves.

“Our wide range of courses offer something which is right for every lifestyle or business from professional skills such as Accounting, to basic and Digital skills, to leisure courses such as personal trainer to Indian Cookery.”

Emma Wilde, Executive Director at The College Marketing Network, said: “We are proud to lead this ground-breaking national campaign in partnership with Stoke on Trent College, media agency Forward and Thinking Limited, and Media Partnership Ltd.

“Our collective efforts are geared not only towards addressing the decline in adult education but also inspiring a renewed enthusiasm for learning among adults across the UK.”
