A chef from one of Staffordshire’s top restaurants is helping to bring a host of celebrities to a T20 charity cricket match.
Niall Keating, of the award-winning Lunar at the World of Wedgwood in Barlaston, has teamed up with Eccleshall Cricket Club to hold the event on Saturday, 23 September.
The event will support the Jason Robinson Foundation and Stafford’s Katherine House Hospice.
Among the players in Niall’s All Star Eleven taking on a team from the cricket club are rugby legend Jason Robinson, opening batter for England Danni Wyatt, England hockey player and Olympic gold medalist Susannah Townsend MBE, former professional boxer Luke Campbell MBE and Bath rugby player Tom Dunn.
Visitors are promised a day of sporting fun and family entertainment, with Niall’s food truck the Paradise Carriage also in attendance.
“I am very excited to join forces with Eccleshall Cricket Club to bring an exciting team together to help raise money for a great cause,” said two-star Michelin chef and team captain Niall, pictured above.
“As a big fan of both cricket and rugby I understand the power both sport and food can have in supporting important causes so aim to help provide an unforgettable experience.”
The gates for the event will open at 11am with the cricket match taking place from 12.30pm. Rugby World Cup matches will be screened throughout the day.
