An experienced videographer is gearing up to take his business to the next level and creating extra employment – just over a year after launching.

Tom Ratcliffe set up his own company in May 2022 following three years of working within the industry elsewhere.

Now the business, originally called Tom Ratcliffe Media, has gone through a whole rebrand, welcomed a new production assistant and set up a new studio at the Carlton House base in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The newly-named Slanted Media Group is producing videos for commercial corporate promotional content, social media and is soon to deliver online educational training sessions.

It also as an eye on producing content for large conferences and promotional footage for sports stars in the near future.

Tom said: “I have always wanted to work in the media production industry and after previously working for another firm, I decided to go on my own and follow a dream I had always had.

“We’ve been working with local businesses for some time now producing a wide range of video content, so I’m really excited to be moving forward with the newly rebranded Slanted.”

The rebranding was carried out with Dumb Agency, which is based at the Keele University Science and Innovation Centre

Tom added: “The brand really encapsulates our ethos, drive and commitment to providing real high-quality video content and also creating content which really tells others stories in the most creative of ways.”

Tom, left, with new Production Assistant Eduard Caklais.

Production Assistant Eduard Caklais joined Tom during this summer. The two first met studying at Staffordshire University and have remained in touch ever since.

Tom said: “I had come to a point in the business where I knew I needed more help and it was a natural step to welcome Eduard.”

Slanted new website will be unveiled at a launch part to be held later this month – and more than 100 local businesses have already registered to attend.
