A clinic and wellbeing centre which has won through to the finals of a high-profile awards is set to take on more staff when it opens its new spa extension.
Stafford-based Medi-Spa 28 Facial Aesthetics and Beauty is a finalist in the Midlands and Wales section of the Best Clinic category at the International Safety in Beauty Diamond Awards.
The medical aesthetics and skincare clinic, which was launched with the aim of “bringing a touch of Harley Street to Stafford,” offers a wide range of services.
Care Quality Commission-regulated health offerings include skin care, laser hair removal, aesthetics and dental treatments and vitamin therapy as well as the expertise of a specialist menopause GP and relationship counsellors.
Medi-Spa 28’s new day spa, scheduled to open on 1 November and featuring a wellbeing suite and vitality pool, will bring in an extra four staff increasing the total number to nine.
At the helm is Clinic Director Barbara Pointon, a registered nurse and former service lead for Community Services in Stafford, who was trained in Harley Street for the delivery of aesthetics treatments.
She said: “We are thrilled to be finalists in the prestigious Safety in Beauty Awards – there has never previously been a Staffordshire Clinic on the shortlist in their 10-year history.”
Medi-Spa 28, housed in a Grade II listed building on Eastgate Street, Stafford, prides itself on the diversity of its services which include hospitality and conference facilities.
Staff are looking forward to sharing news of their finals listing with visitors to the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce’s Let’s Do Business expo on 12 October at Uttoxeter Racecourse where they have a stand.
The Safety in Beauty Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Park Lane on 2 December.
