The founder and CEO of a natural packaging company has been shortlisted for a lifetime achievement award.

Angela Morris, founder of The Wool Packaging Company and creator of the Woolcool brand, will be attending the Family Business of the Year Awards 2023 on Thursday, 21 September with the hope of clinching the Family Business Lifetime Achievement Award.

Angela ran her own award-winning, creative packaging design businesses for over 30 years prior establishing her current company in her early 50s in 2009.

Since then, she has gone on to win a host of accolades including two Queen’s Awards and the firm, based in Stone, was included in the inaugural Family Business United ‘Family Business Top 100’; which recognises the exceptional contribution of individuals and their work within a family business.

Woolcool harnesses the properties of natural materials to create environmentally responsible insulated packaging products with the potential to reduce plastic waste.

Company Director Keith Spilsbury said: “Within education and commerce over the last 45 years, Angela Morris has championed the wider use of sustainable natural materials in the UK packaging industry to help change the world for the better.”

The awards ceremony in London takes place on National Family Business Day.

Angela’s father, grandmother and great-grandmother all ran family businesses in the Staffordshire retail and wholesale food sectors.

Two of her four daughters, Josie and Jessica Morris, are now in the Woolcool management team.
