Businesses in Staffordshire are being asked to complete a new survey to fuel the biggest-ever, widest-reaching promotion of apprenticeships in the county.
The “Look at Me Now” project tells the stories of people who have started as apprentices and have worked to become successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, senior managers and recognised experts.
There are hundreds of apprenticeships available in the county across virtually all business sectors.
Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce is behind the project and wants to hear from businesses and business people about their apprenticeship successes at all levels.
It also aims to promote the breadth of apprenticeships now available, and bust a few myths about opportunities.
Tom Nadin, the chamber’s head of projects and business services, said: ”Of course you can leave school or college and start an apprenticeship, but there are opportunities from level 2 all the way through degrees and post-graduate learning to apprenticeships for the most senior managers.
“We want to improve Staffordshire’s skills profile by helping employers to make the most of offering apprenticeships at all levels.
“Look at Me Now is also aimed at encouraging parents, teachers and careers advisors to see apprenticeships as a more viable route into employment and upskilling and an alternative to a university course.”
