Kia survey lists Stafford North motorway services as ‘luxury’ hotspot

A Staffordshire motorway services which boasts access to a lake and a fountain has been acclaimed as one of the most luxurious in the country. 

Stafford North service station on the M6 was singled out for its number of charging points, access to a large field and lakeside walk, plus the quality of its food in a survey by Kia Motors UK. 

Other features of the site are a Travelodge, a children’s play area and two hours of free parking. 

Praise for the services came in a Top 10 “ranked for luxury” list compiled by the car firm, with Stafford North coming in at Number 4. 

Factors analysed were the Google review ranking, number of amenities, variety of amenities, parking costs and times and aesthetic score. 

Kia noted that Stafford North has GRIDSERVE Electric Highway Network charging stations, it has a solid Google Review score of 4.1 and parking is free for up to two hours. 

Among the shops and restaurants is an M&S Simply Food and a Pret A Manger

A Google Review quoted on the Kia website waxes lyrical about the lakeside walk which is available to northbound travellers: 

“Wow – one of the best services on the M6! The best and most unique thing about this services is the lake, and kids’ play area. 

“You can walk round the lake, then sit and relax after a hectic drive on motorways.” 

A spokesperson for Moto, the motorway services company that runs Stafford North, said: “We are delighted with the rating. 

“Moto prides itself on transforming the rest stop experiences for customers in Stafford and this achievement reflects that.

“Our Stafford North services has a lovely green space which is perfect to stretch our four-legged friends’ legs during long journeys.” 

  • Rated above Stafford North in the Kia listings were Gloucester (M5), Tebay (M6) and Beaconsfield (M40).
