A well-known private healthcare provider is set to raise awareness of men’s health during Movember.
Nuffield Health North Staffordshire is throwing its weight behind the annual event which puts the spotlight on a range of men’s health issues including prostate cancer.
The registered charity is staging an informative session about Men’s Health on Thursday 23 November at 6pm at Nuffield Health Stoke Fitness & Wellbeing Gym, in the café.
Expert consultants will share their knowledge about urology, colorectal and diabetes concerns.
Following their talks there will be a Q&A session and an opportunity to have a brief advisory conversation with one of the consultants.
One of the most effective ways to combat prostate cancer is through early detection and Nuffield Health is emphasising that a simple routine blood test (Prostate Specific Antigen test) can catch the disease in its early stages.
Dr Charles Worrall, Hospital Change Manager, said: “This Movember, Nuffield Health North Staffordshire is growing more than just moustaches, we’re growing awareness, knowledge, and a sense of responsibility for men’s health.
“By getting informed and taking early steps, we can make a real difference in reducing the impact of prostate cancer and other preventable health issues that affect men.”
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK, with more 1.4 million men worldwide receiving this diagnosis each year.
