A North Staffordshire charity whose training workshops have helped scores of local companies understand the impact of sexual violence and trauma on employees is extending its reach across the UK and beyond with a new online platform.
Savana, based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, has been supporting survivors of sexual abuse and their families for over 30-years, with its face-to-face CPD accredited training benefitting many companies, public sector bodies and other charities.
Now adapted versions of Savana’s workshops are to be made available to e-learners for the first time.
Savana Chief Executive Sophia Baker said: “We’ve now developed a new online platform which will allow us to massively spread our reach.
“We will, of course, still be running face-to-face workshops, but online provides an ideal opportunity to support more companies.
“Education is the key to building a supportive, healthy, and productive workforce, and our new online platform represents a significant stride forward towards our mission of creating a world free of sexual violence.”
The platform launched with “An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practice”, which went live this week.
Nikki Taylor, Training and Marketing Manager at Savana, said: “This module is suitable for anyone wanting to explore the impact of all trauma, not just sexual violence.
“For example, a company may employ former armed service personnel, firefighters, or paramedics, victims of crime, or refugees from conflict zones.
“Our module takes participants through real world case studies using interactive content, giving a practical outlook on how to work with survivors of trauma.
“Savana’s online platforms have no time limit and being CPD accredited means it counts towards employee’s professional development in the workplace, and is ideal for managers and HR professionals.”
