A specialist training provider has rounded off its charity fundraising efforts for this year with a selection box choc-o-meter challenge.
Rebus Training, in Stoke-on-Trent, asked staff, apprentices, customers and friends to donate selection boxes to their charity of the year The Hubb Foundation, which supports disadvantaged children and families in the city.
As an extra incentive, Rebus bosses agreed to donate an additional £100 worth of chocolates if the donations received were greater in height than that of Tutor Chris Tatton on the shoulders of Training Manager Rob Glover.
A total of 169 selection boxes, plus a range of donated toys and gifts, were collected by Tana Owen and Adam Yates from The Hubb Foundation on Friday.
Anne Edge, Apprentice Engagement Coordinator at Rebus, said: “It was heartwarming to hear about the fantastic work that the Hubb do to support families in need across Stoke on Trent. They were most appreciative of the mountain of donations for them to distribute to children in our local area.
“Rebus would like to thank each and every person that has donated to our appeal this year.”
Rebus Training’s other fundraising efforts for the Stoke-on-Trent charity this year have included £560 from a charity raffle and £405 raised in donations from a team of Rebus staff and apprentices completing the Potters ‘Arf Marathon in June.
Next year’s chosen charity is the Midlands Air Ambulance.
