Community radio turns spotlight on local businesses

A recently-launched community radio show championing Staffordshire business has already showcased 10 local firms. 

Business owners are welcomed on to a dedicated feature show called Business Spotlight, broadcast by Cross Rhythms City Radio

Since the programme launch three months ago episodes have featured the likes of Carse & Waterman, Evergreen Financial Planning, The HEX Group, iCreation, Ironmarket Wealth, Overclockers and Strategi Solutions

Business owners from the Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme areas are interviewed in the studio at Cheapside, Hanley.  

The aim is to raise local awareness and encourage support for both large firms and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises across the region.

Host of Business Spotlight, Sonya Farrall – who is also founder of PR company BabaBaboon which partners with Cross Rhythms in the initiative – said: “We have had some great guests join me in the studio at the station and have received some really fantastic feedback. 

“We have explored all kinds of topics from finance to IT, the creative industry to apprentices, and more. In the coming months we will be welcoming more brilliant businesses and delving into other areas including business mentoring, leadership and cyber security – I cannot wait.” 

Jonathan Bellamy, CEO of Cross Rhythms City Radio, said: “The aim of Business Spotlight was always to help to raise awareness of our great local businesses – and I am delighted to say that has happened in the months since we launched. 

“It is a really popular feature which has grown already and we are excited for the future.” 

Business Spotlight is broadcast across the region on 101.8FM and 96.6FM three times a week.  Video content is also published on multiple online channels and guests are given access to the full video interview afterwards for their own use.
