Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat is investing a six-figure sum to upgrade its events space as demand for conferences, corporate functions and other get-togethers continues to grow in the post-Covid era.
Work began on a new look for ‘The Venue’ earlier this month as part of a larger investment plan to cater for eventing.
The refurbishment is being carried out in two stages and is set to be complete in April, with the aim to offer businesses and wedding couples an open and airy space for the warmer months of 2024.
Newcastle-under-Lyme-based Interior Design Practice are carrying out the re-design, which takes its inspiration from the natural lakeside and woodland location of the retreat.
The Venue is one of three key spaces available for corporate functions at the North Staffordshire spa and wellness destination, which also include The Acorn Suite and MADE Wellness Centre.
As part of the refurbishment, The Venue’s bar is being completely replaced and the whole area transformed with new soft seating and more lighting and planting.
In the larger venue space, which is popular for weddings and conferences, partitioning walls are being refurbished and chandeliers are being replaced with new soft lights and ceiling lanterns. There will also be a waterfall planting effect.
Moddershall Oaks Director Penny Weston, pictured above, said: “In a post-Covid world, we’ve seen demand for conferences, corporate events, and away days increase.
“The spaces that we have offer flexibility for small and intimate meetings, or larger events that require flexibility, exclusivity, and a change from the norm.
“We’re so excited by this investment and redevelopment as it will give a cohesive connection to the rest of our spaces, and we can’t wait to reveal our phase 2 plans for our expansion in the future. It’s a very exciting time for Moddershall Oaks!”
Penny added: “As always, the project will take some managing around existing events and will take place in stages. Our venue has been a huge part of Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat for nearly 14 years and this new investment kick starts a new events growth strategy this year.”
Emma Moss, Design Director at the Interior Design Practice added: “The whole design is inspired by the natural lakeside and woodland location of the venue. The redesign adds a touch of glamour in a way that’s perfectly balanced against the natural feel, soft curves, planting, luxurious fabrics and neutral tones.”
