Winning the Small Business of the Year title at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards has unlocked opportunities and increased brand exposure, according to Trentham Foods.

The total food solutions provider says that the win has helped contribute to their ongoing growth, while attracting new employees and helping to boost overall business.

The firm has spoken out as businesses have just one week to complete a free application for the 2024 awards – set to be the biggest in Staffordshire Chambers’ history.

Jacob Durkin, Trentham Foods Director, said: “We have witnessed an increase in brand exposure from local businesses and even speculative job applications – we believe as a direct consequence of our Small Business Of The Year Award win.

“For Trentham Foods winning the award last year did not just represent a great night of recognition for our business success as a team, but has also had opened more opportunities.”

Trentham Foods fought off tough competition to be named joint Small Business of the Year winners, alongside Best of British Beer, at the 2023 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, in a year that saw a record number of applications from local businesses.

Businesses have until Friday, 22 March to submit a free application for the 2024 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards ahead of the gala awards ceremony which returns to the DoubleTree by Hilton on 4 July.

Jacob added: “Last year’s awards evening was a fantastic night amazingly organised, it was an honour just to be in the room with so many local individuals and businesses that had so many fantastic accomplishments.

“Prior to the award, we were already perceived as a Total Solutions Provider in our Market, the additional recognition has served to attract new business opportunities in developing segments helping to contribute to our ongoing growth.”

Small Business of the Year is one of 15 category awards available to enter this year, which also includes two brand new categories, the Responsible Business of the Year and the Learning and Development Award.

Businesses can submit their free Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards application ahead of the deadline on Friday, 22 March, here.
