Browns Distribution has been selected as a finalist in the Medium/Large Business of the Year category, sponsored by Dains Accountants, at the 2024 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.
Browns Distribution is a third-generation, family-owned logistics company that has grown to become Staffordshire’s leading transport and warehousing provider, offering comprehensive haulage and storage of palletised goods across the UK. It is committed to reducing carbon emissions, recognising the significant impact of road transport on the UK’s carbon footprint.
Their new facility is equipped with an 80 kW rooftop solar PV array, with unused energy being exported. They have also introduced a fleet of fully electric forklift trucks, replacing older LPG models. This change has resulted in a 100% reduction in the use of heavy fossil fuels on-site and a 50% reduction in overall warehouse energy usage over 12 months.
Delivering exceptional customer service lies at the heart of Browns’ core values and vision for the future. Their emphasis on employee training and leveraging technology ensures that every aspect of the customer experience meets the highest standards.
Since Browns launched in 1955, their Staffordshire heritage has played a significant part in shaping business practices. What began with the transport of local pottery using a single van has evolved into a longstanding commitment to excellence in service delivery. Today, Browns proudly serves some of the largest ceramics companies in the country, a reflection of their dedication and expertise in the industry.
The winner of the award will be announced at the highly-anticipated Gala Awards evening, taking place on Thursday, 4 July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Festival Park.
