Community organisations are being invited to apply for a share of funding designed to support charities, community groups and social enterprises in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The We Love The Moorlands fund has distributed 43 grants totalling nearly £34,000 since its launch two years ago – positively impacting the lives of over 22,000 residents.
Now organisations can apply for grants ranging from £100 to £1,000 to launch new services or enhance their current provisions.
Judy Scott-Moncrieff, Trustee of the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire and Patron of We Love the Moorlands, said: “We are pleased that the fund has made such a positive impact in such a short space of time – but this is just the beginning!
“Over the next few years we are looking to more than double our reach and our impact. We will be delighted to work with local businesses and people who want to help us support our fantastic local communities.
“Every penny we raise stays within the Staffordshire Moorlands, so it is a great way of not only supporting projects where we live, work and play, but also ensuring that money stays within our businesses and communities.”
Grants are designed to help enhance the quality of life for Moorlands residents by providing essential services, introducing new initiatives, or improving the efficiency and scope of existing operations.
The deadline for the next round of applications is 30 August ahead of the panel hearing on 17 September.
We Love The Moorlands is one of ten place-based funds operated by The Community Foundation for Staffordshire. Since 2001, they have awarded more than £22m to local charities and community groups across Staffordshire and Shropshire
We Love The Moorlands conduct two funding rounds each year that cater to both capital and revenue projects, with funding duration of up to one year. Typically, the fund does not provide consecutive years of funding for the same project unless significant developments or increased demand are demonstrated.
The fund prioritises projects that extend their services to a broader audience, reflecting its commitment to fostering inclusivity and community growth.
There were a total of 15 grants issued in the last round of We Love the Moorlands funding, supporting projects including League of Artisans CIC, who used the funds to launch community natural dye workshops and Biddulph Youth and Community Zone who hosted a sing, music, laugh social.
