Daren Durkin, co-director of Trentham Foods, has been named a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year category at the prestigious Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards. This category is proudly sponsored by Staffordshire University.

Under Daren’s leadership, Trentham Foods has seen significant growth and diversification. From meticulous financial planning to bold, innovative ideas, Daren’s strategic vision has expanded the company’s product portfolio and opened new customer sectors.

His ability to foresee industry trends, such as the rise of foodservice outlets, and quickly adapt to market changes has been crucial. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Daren’s quick pivot to traditional wholesale markets ensured continued success, demonstrating his keen understanding of the meat sector’s complexities.

Daren’s commitment extends beyond business, as he actively engages in numerous community projects and charitable efforts. Notable initiatives include sponsoring the Caudwell Centre for Autism Research at Keele University, donating turkeys to The Salvation Army for Christmas lunches, supporting Stoke Homeless Outreach, and contributing to the North Staffordshire Asperger’s and Autistic Association’s annual charity ball.
