Euro-matic has been named as a finalist for the Sustainability and Environment category, sponsored by GivEnergy, at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.

Euro-matic’s innovative Shade Balls have gained attention for their environmental benefits. The balls create a floating blanket on top of reservoirs, lagoons, ponds, and wastewater treatment plants, maintaining a natural ecosystem while preventing stagnation and algae buildup.

Covering 91% of the water surface, they effectively reduce evaporation by 90%, conserve water in hotter climates, and have a lifespan of over 30 years due to their UV-resistant properties.

In collaboration with Wessex Water and Yorkshire Water, Euro-matic’s projects have successfully prevented the use of harmful chemicals, enhancing the quality of wastewater returned to natural river systems. Euro-matic is also making strides in domestic applications, providing energy-efficient solutions for fish ponds, hot tubs, and swimming pools, with their floating balls saving up to 75% in heating costs and significantly reduce energy bills.

As a committed plastic converter, Euro-matic ensures its products are durable and sustainable, with zero waste in production and cost-effective shipping methods.

The category winner will be announced at the gala awards evening, set to take place on the Thursday, 4 July at the Doubletree by Hilton.
