Automotive emissions systems manufacturer, Klarius, has been named as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category at the 2024 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards.

This prestigious award is sponsored by the West Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association.

Over the past three years, Klarius has undergone a remarkable transformation with their employee engagement strategy.  They have made extensive improvements, creating an environment where talent and innovation thrive through targeted initiatives and a culture of continuous feedback.

Klarius prioritise the well-being and development of their workforce through ongoing training and development programmes. These initiatives encourage employees to excel in their roles, grow their skill sets, and build confidence both personally and professionally. Recent initiatives include promoting individuals from the shop floor to management positions, and a commitment to apprenticeships, with 4.5% of their workforce at foundational level and 1.3% pursuing degree level apprenticeships.

Their retention rate is an average of eight years, double the UK national average, with 20% of their workforce consisting of long-serving employees who have been in post for 20 years plus . This statistic demonstrates the effectiveness of their initiatives in creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to stay.

The winner of the award will be announced at the highly-anticipated Gala Awards evening, taking place on Thursday, 4 July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Festival Park.
